The company „E Daugava” has opened the first pyrolisis plant for recicling used car tyres. It is located in Ozolnieki Terrirory, district Salgales. The project cost is 309 thousands lats. Investment and Development Agency of Latvia devoted 35% of funds.
The tyres recicling process by using of pyrolisis is unique for Latvia. Such plant exists in Estonia. This method of tyres recicling is innovative and perspective from evironmental protection’s and efiicient resources using point of view.
According to the company’s „E Daugava” director Ajvars Ievinsh, earlier usually old used tyres had been discarded. But now it will be collected for recicling to resurrect it as material for farther manufacturing. „The final product of pyrolisis is fuel oil (liquid hydrocarbon), fluid fuel (gas of purolisis), technical carbon, metal cord (scrap iron),” – added mr. Ievinsh.
The company’s director as well noticed, that these technologies give good opportunity for exports, because they are not expanded. Manufacturing valumes could be increased by building of new reactors. In addition, it is possible to use used oil cleaners and absorbents except the pyrolisis.
